March Travel Talk Tuesday Is Presenting Polar Opposites: The Arctic and Antarctic

Marcia Wilson

Ever thought you’d visit the bottom of the world? Well, you’re invited! Learn whether an expedition cruise to either is right for you.

Join Travel Talk Tuesday’s (TTT) photo expedition presentation on March 25 as a SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) mother and daughter team share their journey to one of the least hospitable environments on earth, Antarctica, and how it contrasted to the Arctic, which they also explored. Antarctica and the Arctic are both cold, icy, and home to an array of wonderful wildlife not found anywhere else. But this is where the similarities end.

You’ll meet seals, sea lions, whales, exotic birds, and best of all, the penguins!

Be enthralled learning about the Arctic and Antarctic, which are geographic opposites, and not just because they sit on opposite ends of the globe. The Arctic is an ocean surrounded by continents, while Antarctica is a continent surrounded by oceans. These differences in the arrangement of land and water contribute to differences in each polar region’s climate, oceanic and atmospheric circulation patterns, and sea ice—all of which were on display.

Climb aboard with them as a submersible dives 300 feet down and witness a tropical ice age garden of exotic sea plants and brilliant colors. And so much more!

Mark your calendar and join Travel Talk Tuesday on March 25 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the La Mesa Room.Seating is limited.
