At the awards ceremony for Dinko De Mayo a few years ago, avid baker Ladd Lindsay and retired pastry chef Russ Hardy were chatting about baking and the topic of cinnamon rolls came up. Ladd uses potato in his and Russ makes his with brioche. A taste testing bake-off was born! It took a few years, but on Feb. 20 it happened! Ladd and Russ made their respective cinnamon rolls and nearly 50 friends from pickleball came to taste and pick their favorite. We had beverages so they could “cleanse their palates” between tastes.
