The SBR Painters Club is offering a three-session beginner and intermediate watercolor painting course on:
Sunday, May 4, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Saturday, May 17, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Sunday, May 18, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The class will skip the week of Mother’s Day.
In the course, taught by Rachel Linnemeier, you will learn how to transfer images to your paper and implement many watercolor techniques. Instruction will focus on painting wet into wet, using gouache for highlights, masking in watercolor, and creating textures using unconventional tools. Over the three weeks, expect to complete three small paintings if you are a beginner. Intermediates can choose from three landscape examples and paint one or all three. Rachel will guide you through all the steps, including layers of washes to get the luminosity effect in your painting.
Cost of the three-session course is $100 for members and $110 for nonmembers. Bring your own watercolor supplies, or you can purchase a basic beginner watercolor kit for $75.
Members are asked to RSVP to the event in Team Reach, but registration is not complete until payment is received. Both members and nonmembers should submit payment via check payable to SBR Painters Club in the Painters Club drop box outside the Fine Arts Room. Please indicate “Beginner Watercolor” or “Beginner Watercolor+kit” in the memo line of your check.
