What Is Neighbors Helping Neighbors?

Here at the Ranch, we know that some of our neighbors may need additional assistance from time to time. One of the great things about living in a community like ours is the way we can look out for one another. That is what SBR Neighbors Helping Neighbors is all about, helping our neighbors from time to time.

Neighbors may need rides to the grocery store or pick up prescriptions or doctor appointments.

Neighbors may need meals delivered while they are recuperating from a serious illness or surgery.

Neighbors may need simple assistance in their home.

Neighbors may need some “sunshine to brighten their days as they recover from surgery, illness, or just having a bad day.

Neighbors may feel loneliness or a sense of isolation and anxiety for a variety of reasons.

Would you be willing to do one or more of the tasks below?

Driver: Drive residents to appointments, shopping, or pick up prescriptions.

Run errands: Make a shopping trip for a neighbor.

Phone calls: Make friendly phone calls to neighbors who may need a checkin once or twice a week.

Friendly communications: Send sunshine or get-well cards; send occasional texts, online cards, or email communications to residents in need.

Send sympathy cards: When a residents spouse/partner dies.

Home visits: Make visits to residents’ homes that are feeling isolated.

Simple handyman tasks: Help a resident to tighten hinges, change a light bulb, carry out trash, change filters, make minor repairs to drip lines, hang pictures, reset irrigation systems, move items, and more.
