If you come to the Hacienda on a Monday morning, chances are you have seen some SBRTA members and interested people working on tennis drills and learning from our fabulous mentor, Dean Alfrey.
This is what we call Development Day. It is designed for new players or experienced players getting back into tennis after a few years away. Whether you are a new player or former player it is a great way to get into or back into tennis. After a session or two you will feel comfortable going to sessions just for playing with others of your skill level.
To join us at Development Day, either just show up on Monday morning or email Ted Wierman, membership chairman, at [email protected]. We have extra rackets in the fitness center so you don’t even have to have a racket to come play.
We feel fortunate to have a ball machine that holds a couple hundred balls that we use during our drills on Development Day. You can get “certified” on the ball machine so you can reserve time through the fitness center to work by yourself on the shots that you want to improve. A half-hour on the ball machine is fun and very useful in improving segments of your game! But you need to be trained and certified to check out the ball machine.
So if you want a low pressure way to get back on the court, come see us on Development Day, every Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. It is helpful if you let us know you are coming but not necessary.
We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming Development Day!
