Barrio Brewing shared their expertise, as well as their beer!
Brats and Beer Bash
Ann Vernon
Back by popular demand, John and Linda Ansay once again hosted a brats and beer bash in their backyard as one of the 2025 fixed price events featured at the Oracle Schools Foundation Spring Fling Gala/auction. John and Linda, former Wisconsin residents, brought a taste of the Midwest to the Southwest. Although Wisconsin is famously known for its cheese (especially cheese curds), bratwurst is one of their unique culinary traditions, along with frozen custard and butter burgers (think Culvers, the food chain that started in Wisconsin).
The Ansays pulled out all the stops and served brats and hot dogs with all the trimmings, potato salad, baked beans, and much more. Guests learned about several Barrio brews before they got to sample them. Barrio Brewing is the oldest brewery in Arizona and their beers are very popular. We thank Barrio for once again sharing their expertise, as well as their beer!
Mark your calendars for March 14, 2026 for the 2026 Spring Fling/Gala and auction. This event is our major fundraiser and we appreciate all the SaddleBrooke and Ranch residents who host fixed price events or donate their time and talent in various ways. We need your support—without it, we would not be able to make major contributions to two sections of preschool in the Mountain Vista pre-K-8 school in Oracle. The research is very clear—early childhood education predicts later success in school and in life. Providing quality educational experiences for these young learners is the top priority of the Oracle Schools Foundation, which is celebrating 10 years of existence! Please contact me, Ann Vernon, at vernonann47@gmail.com if you would like to be involved in helping support early childhood education.

Sean Lewis
Just for Music Lovers!
Ann Vernon
As one of the fixed price events in conjunction with the Oracle Schools Foundation Gala/Auction, Sean Lewis, a SaddleBrooke resident, entertained 30 guests at the home of Ann and Nile Vernon on a chilly night in April. Despite the weather, bundled up guests mixed and mingled as they munched on a variety of tasty appetizers prepared by the hosts: Ann and Nile Vernon, Connie and Larry Byrd, and Sharon and Dennis Anderson.
Even better than the food was the music! Sean sang a variety of tunes we all know and love, along with some of his original hits. There was lots of toe-tapping and singing along as everyone enjoyed the wide variety of music Sean performed.
The Foundation is so fortunate to have a talented performer such as Sean who donated his musical abilities to entertain us. He has many years of experience and clearly knows how to please an audience.
If you haven’t attended a fixed price event, you are missing out on some great experiences. We “launch” these events at our Spring Gala, but events that haven’t yet sold out are listed on our website at oracleschoolsfoundation.com.
Click on fixed price events and you will see what is still available. All proceeds support educational programs, primarily preschool, at the Mountain Vista School in Oracle. Mark your calendars for next year’s event on March 14, 2026. Please contact me at vernonann47@gmail.com if you would like to host an event or contribute your talent by donating made-to-order baked goods, sewing expertise, handyman services, airport transportation, etc. We need your participation to make this event successful!
