4th Annual Unit 6 Turkey Trot and Food Drive!

Katie Lundgren

The 4th annual Turkey Trot and Food Drive is Thursday, Nov. 27 at 9 a.m. sharp. Start your holiday with fun, fitness, and community spirit at our 4th annual Turkey Trot 5K Walk! All are welcome—two-legged and four-legged friends alike—and don’t forget to wear your most festive Turkey Attire!

What Is a Turkey Trot?

It’s a fun, non-competitive 5K walk (or run, if you must!)—that’s 3.1 miles—through our beautiful neighborhoods. Each year, Unit 6 hosts, and we’ll kick off at the mailboxes halfway down South Cattle Trail. The route will take us to the dog park, through a few neighborhood units, and back.

* The trail will be clearly marked.

* Golf cart volunteers will be stationed along the way to cheer you on and offer assistance.

* A beverage station will be set up at the halfway point.

The walk should take about an hour, but feel free to turn back anytime—this is a no-pressure, all-fun event!

Prizes and Medals!

We’ll be awarding medals to the top three finishers in each category:

* Women

* Men

* Under 18s

(And yes, pets are welcome—as long as they’re well-behaved!)

There will be prizes for those festooned in their best Turkey Attire!

Support a Great Cause

Instead of a registration fee, please bring two (2) non-expired canned or boxed food items as your “entry fee.” Of course, more donations are always appreciated! This year’s Turkey Trot will benefit Impact of Southern Arizona, a local organization that helps individuals achieve self-sufficiency through emergency assistance, job training, and more.

Leaving Town Early?

No problem! A donation box will be available starting Thursday, Nov. 20, on the patio across from the mailboxes. You don’t need to participate in the walk to contribute. Let’s come together, get moving, and give back to our community.

We hope to see you there!
