Rev. Dr. Jonathan Zenz holds two ordinations both as a Unity minister and a Religious Science minister, as well as a Doctorate of Consciousness Studies from the Emerson Theological Institute. Dr. Jonathan has dedicated his life to the deepest understanding and experience of the Divinity, or God-essence, found within all people and inspiring everyone to recognize this and live this for themselves. He is committed to community development in compassion, connection, cooperation, and, above all, love.
He is a native of Tucson, Ariz., where he was born, raised, and where he attended the University of Arizona receiving a degree in theatre production, with an emphasis in acting and directing. He spent much of his adult professional life as a successful theatre actor and singer in Los Angeles, Calif. He also had success as an Emmy Award–nominated television producer in New York City. Following his years of ministerial training, coupled with service as the administrator for the NoHo Arts Center for New Thought (now the Global Truth Center) in Los Angeles, Dr. Jonathan was called in 2011 to serve as the Spiritual Director at the Centre for Spiritual Living Toronto, in Ontario, Canada, where he served until 2017. Following his departure from Canada, Dr. Jonathan returned to Tucson and founded the independent spiritual community, Tucson New Thought. He stepped into the role of Senior Minister at Unity of Tucson on April 1, 2020.
With a global intention of eliminating the perceived gap between humans and Divine, Jonathan blends his background in theatre and television production to bring a high-spirited presentational style to the teachings of New Thought and offers it for consideration in forward thinking ways.
Join us for the next performance at the DesertView Performing Arts Center on Nov. 23 at 4 p.m. All faiths and religions are welcome; an offering will be collected to cover theater and miscellaneous costs.
