This holiday season, the SaddleBrooke Singers present “A-Caroling We Go!” Tickets are on sale at DesertView Performing Arts Center, dvpac.net, and are only $25 for the 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 performance.
Audience members will experience a festive journey that follows a group of carolers bringing music from porch to porch. With moments of joy, laughter, and playful fun, alongside tender songs of comfort and peace—including a moving stop at a soldier’s doorstep—this program blends the sparkle of familiar carols with the warmth of community. Join us as voices come together in song and celebration, sharing the true spirit of Christmas.
Holiday Melodies
Or conductor, Tanya Elias, brings a rare blend of musical excellence and discerning repertoire to every performance. Her ability to shape a concert with both technical mastery and emotional nuance makes each program unforgettable. When she presents “Deck the Halls,” it’s not merely a festive carol—it becomes a celebration of heritage and harmony. Rooted in a 16th-century Welsh melody and reimagined through Victorian lyricism, the piece reflects Tanya’s gift for honoring tradition while elevating it with fresh musical vitality. Her interpretation invites listeners to hear beyond the familiar “fa la la” refrains and discover the carol’s rich cultural tapestry.
What more can one wish for during the holiday season than the chance to experience timeless melodies brought to life by Tucson’s finest? With jazz great Sly Slipetsky at the piano and Jason Noffsinger on percussion, the evening promises a rich tapestry of sound—playful, poignant, and joyfully nostalgic.
Carols and Classics
Audiences will be treated to tremendous soloists and a chorus of voices weaving together carols and classics that span centuries and styles. From the stirring harmonies of “Masters in This Hall,” a traditional French carol, to the gentle storytelling of “A Bundle of Straw,” each piece offers a moment of reflection and wonder.
Beloved standards like “Silent Night” and “Silver Bells” will shimmer with fresh arrangements, while a rollicking “Jingle Bells” hoedown brings toe-tapping cheer. And when the ensemble lifts “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” the spirit of celebration will be unmistakable.
