Unit 6 Ladies Enjoy a Holiday Luncheon
Katie Lundgren
Our ladies are fabulous and fun, and we love a good party, as you all know! For our first annual luncheon, we chose the theme “Sparkles and Bubbles.” We celebrated friendship and sisterhood over lunch and sparkly beverages at the Ranch House. Tiaras were given to those who “forgot” to wear sparkles. Everyone who attended, as well as those who were home sick, received a gift bag and a split of champagne to keep the festivities going. Happy New Year!
Unit 14AB and Friends Ryder Cup
Wes Morrill
Twenty-five head-to-head matches in a Ryder Cup match play format putting tournament took place on Jan. 2. Normal signups for our putting events total about 25, but this tournament garnered far more interest. Fifty players registered and were selected by blind draw by Captain Darryl Jannise for the Red Team and Captain Wes Morrill for the Blue Team.
A spirited and friendly competition saw Darryl’s Red Team decisively defeat Wes’s Blue Team 16 ½ points to 8 ½. A vast selection of appetizers and desserts greeted the players following the tournament where results were announced with several golf and non-golf related prizes being raffled in addition to cash winnings to the Red Team.
This spring, our group plans another unique event tying in with the Masters Tournament held in Augusta each year.
We are an inclusive group, and welcome anyone interested in joining in our various activities throughout the year. Just send me an email to wes_morr22@yahoo.com for more information.
