SaddleBrooke Barbershop Chorus Is Alive and Well

Richard Davis

The SaddleBrooke Barbershop Chorus is gearing up for a new year, new music to learn, and outreach to entertain groups in SaddleBrooke, SaddleBrooke Ranch, Oro Valley, and Tucson. The chorus has been here for about two decades, two decades of music learning and camaraderie. Barbershop music began in this country in the late 1800s when men would gather, perhaps at the local barbershop. You may recall a Norman Rockwell picture of just such a foursome. Because the harmonizing is done by ear and not piano notes, the chords can “ring.” The melody is carried by the lead rather than the tenor so the sound is unique.

There is more to say at another time, but if you want more information about us, want to schedule us to sing at your event, or are interested in joining our Chorus, call our director, Bruce, at 520-306-2113 or look us up online at SaddleBrookeBarbershopChorus.org.
