SBR Ranch Roots Genealogy Club Welcomes Speaker on Jewish Genealogy

Karen Daly Peltier

The SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Ranch Roots Genealogy Club is proud to welcome Rich Schlesinger from the Southern Arizona Jewish Genealogical Society (SAJGS), as the presenter at the March general meeting.

Mr. Schlesinger’s presentation will focus on how best to research ancestors of Jewish heritage, as well as provide information as to how the Society may be of assistance to the researcher. Tracing Jewish ancestors pose many unique difficulties, and seemingly insurmountable brick walls. Locating the sources you need and to successfully navigate those records may often appear to be a daunting task. Mr. Schlesinger will endeavor to provide the best techniques to deliver the most accurate results.

The Southern Arizona Jewish Genealogical Society was recently honored by the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies at its 45th Annual Conference, winning the Member of the Year Award in August of 2025.

SAJGS earned this award by diligently working to develop vibrant in-person and virtual presentations, collaborating with other Jewish organizations to increase its visibility and sponsoring field trips to more effectively assist those researching their family history and Jewish heritage.

As one of two Co-Presidents of the Society, Rich was on hand to accept the award, along with his colleague, Co-President Nancy Grayson.

Please join the SBR Ranch Roots Genealogy Club on Monday, March 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the La Mesa/La Montana Rooms of the Hacienda Club. All are welcome!
