April 28 was a perfect spring afternoon for the Ranch House lawn to be transformed into a sophisticated yet laid-back paradise for the Wine Club of SBR wine lovers. Our Block Party style event brought together wine enthusiasts, neighbors, food, and music lovers for an unforgettable experience! Featured were carefully curated wine tasting stations with delicious food pairings and the soulful sounds of live music by the Whose Blues band.
There was a lovely flow to the event where guests could wander freely between tasting stations while soaking in the music and sunshine. The joyful mingling mixed with laughter and conversation rising alongside the smooth riffs of the Whose Blues band was the ultimate pairing for a memorable afternoon. Their music—sometimes smooth and mellow, sometimes upbeat and festive—perfectly matched the relaxed vibe.
The heart of the event was the series of thoughtfully arranged wine and food tasting stations scattered across the lawn. Each station focused on a different wine and food pairing, allowing guests to explore a variety of wines at their own pace with their Block Party Passport:
Welcome Wine—Aveleda Solos de Granito Alvarinho, Vino Verde, Portugal
Pairing #1: Chateau Leoube Love—Rose, Provence, France
Chicken Street Tacos
Pairing #2: Boomtown—Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, Washington
Bison Sliders
Pairing #3: WK Vintners—Real Wine Chardonnay, Washington Vineyards
Tropical Fruit Salad
Pairing #4: Wines of Substance—Red Blend—Washington Vineyards
Beef Satay and Potato Salad
No wine tasting is complete without excellent food, and the Ranch House Chefs delivered with gusto! There were even requests for some of their plates to be offered on our menu on a regular basis! Yes, it was truly that good!
Whether you were a seasoned oenophile or a casual sipper, the Wine Club Block Party proved that great wine, good food, and live music are the ultimate recipe for a perfect afternoon!
