Where Has the Time Gone?

As we all know, time seems to pass more quickly with each passing year. We’ve completed our careers, raised our families, and now find ourselves enjoying retirement. At this stage of life we finally have an opportunity to focus on ourselves—whether that means traveling, pursuing a hobby, volunteering, or simply appreciating the gift of free time.

While these can truly be some of the most rewarding years of our lives, it also becomes increasingly important to take care of our physical health. Staying active and strong helps us maintain our independence, improve our quality of life, and continue doing the things we love for years to come.

Maybe it is time to start an exercise routine. I know for some of us that can sound like a lot, but here at SaddleBrooke Ranch we are so fortunate to have resources to help us with that. We have classes that are taught by experienced instructors who can help you begin your fitness journey. For a more personalized experience, we also have personal trainers who can specifically design a program to fit your situation and needs.

I recently found an article that really summarizes why it is so important staying active at retirement age.

“The Hard Truth That No One Wants to Hear”

Most of us don’t want to hear about working out forever.

Movement is just not a phase. It is a lifetime investment in your energy, independence, confidence, and your ability to continue to enjoy life to the fullest.

And yes, some days getting started seems hard. Believe me, I have had many days like that myself! But here is what I have learned over the years.

The real cost of not taking care of yourself is just not physically. It is slowly losing the energy, strength, and freedom, and the capability to fully show up for life and the people you love.

You don’t have to love every day but you do have to keep going.

For your future.

For your freedom.

For the life you still want to live.

So that says it better than I ever could. If feeling better and ensuring a healthier future is what you want, then take advantage of our resources and let us help you start your fitness journey. Remember, it really is never too late!

“I am writing to commend and refer Debbie McGrady as an amazing personal trainer. Since moving to SBR, I let myself become lax in my physical health. Too many lazy mornings and indulgence in events that most often include wine and food. I had done personal training in Colorado for the previous 10 years prior to moving to Arizona. Upon moving here, I attended fitness classes off and on and played pickleball, but these activities were not enough to keep me fit. I felt I needed a boost and motivation and she has undoubtedly provided that for me. I began earlier this year and she developed several different routines that increased my strength and stamina. I intend to continue those routines that have helped me feel confident in my capabilities and strength. She is knowledgeable about all aspects of training and the exercises that can make the most out of your abilities. I also learned how to correctly use the machines in the gym available to all of us that I had not previously used. I highly recommend Debbie to anyone who wants to extend their exercise and health goals. She is upbeat, encouraging, and makes exercising fun!”—Provided by JA
