Women of Wine Make Sangria

Mary Leben and Susie Morrill

Women of Wine (and Cocktails) had their monthly meeting on Aug. 20, and the event was a sangria making class. Kelly Cardwell and her staff taught everyone the ins and outs of sangria making.

Traditional fruit: orange, apple, lemon, and lime.

Seasonal fruit: summer fruit and tropical fruits all work well when crafting your sangria.

Liqueur: Liqueurs like brandy, rum, vodka, and orange liqueur are great choices to add into the juice and the fruit.

Wine: Red, white, or rosé wines are added to the recipe.

Once the liquors, chopped fruit, and wine are combined for 2-4 hours, the sangria is ready for drinking with sparkling added for the bubble effect. Everyone left with a 16 oz. jar of the sangria of their choice.

The Women of Wine Sept. 17 meeting was our fall concert event with AZ You Wish as entertainment.
