The event of the season has finally arrived! It’s the SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Cancer Support Group’s 2nd Annual FUNraising & Silent Auction. Proceeds Benefit Blood Cancer United and the SBR Cancer Support Group.
Friday, Oct. 16, 6:30 p.m.
La Hacienda Bistro
Come to the Bistro for the fun. The bar will be open for drinks and light snacks. Listen to the fabulous music of our own community band, AZ You Wish.
Beverages and snacks are available for purchase … but the fun is FREE!
The auction will include wonderful treasures from local restaurants, community artists, etc. We will also be conducting a “Wine Pull,” where purchasing a ticket ensures that everyone is a winner!
There will be something for everyone’s budget, and all bidding is completely optional.
Most of the money raised at this year’s auction allows us to fulfill our commitment to support Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society). This organization currently scores a 99% on Charity Navigator (charitynavigator.org), earning it a Four-Star rating. Their current and continuing focus lies in:
* Patient education and financial support
* Patient nutritional consultations
* Clinical Trial and research support
* Partnering with local healthcare providers for screening and early detection programs
* Advocating for policy changes that improve access to treatment and care
A small amount of fundraising dollars will stay within the support group to cover both minor administrative costs and community-based support efforts like the Cancer Care Containers being delivered to newly diagnosed neighbors currently in treatment.
This support group is open to anyone who has been affected by cancer. Our members help each other in many ways, including:
* Individual and group support and mentoring
* Sharing treatment items such as wigs, chemo shirts, etc.
* Providing rides, meals, etc.
* Creating and delivering Cancer Care packages to neighbors with new or ongoing cancer diagnoses
Whether you come to bid on an item (or two!) or you come to support those of us who have been affected by cancer, your presence will be so appreciated!
