August winners
Carol Beeley and Paula Burns
The Arizona summer heat didn’t stop the Ranchette Putters from turning in another strong month on the greens in August 2026. With steady participation, tight scoring, and a long list of holes-in-one, the group showed that late-summer golf can be just as sharp as springtime play.
August’s prize winners led the way with consistently low averages:
* Lowest Average: Bridget Hunsinger (34.33)
* Second Lowest Average: Evie Falk (34.50)
* Third Lowest Average: Karen Derdzinske and Andrea Cothran (34.67)
Improvement across the roster was also a highlight:
* Most Improved: Debbie Penaluna
* 2nd Most Improved: Jan Junkin
* 3rd Most Improved: Susan Stracy
As usual, the holes-in-one column was crowded. Putters with six or more aces in August included:
* 6 Holes-in-One: Sherry Brinster, Andrea Cothran, Janice Hynes, Terri Menning, Linda Olen, Amy Rhodes
* 7+ Holes-in-One: Roberta Davis, Pam Engelhardt, Candace Flammang, Lisa Moffatt, Debbie Penaluna, Nancy Tagge, Lore Weimer, Sandy Buonarigo, Nancy Eisenstein, Camille Esterman, Monica Lyster, Lydia Reichard, Evie Falk, Linda Noble, Jean Sticha, Corine Sturdivant, Karen Derdzinske, Sandy Getter, Cyndi Hammonds, Norma Tanner, Mary Jo Tuton, Karen Walser, Bridget Hunsinger, Evelyn Silver, Lynn Wagner, Trish Minard
From low gross averages to long strings of aces, August proved that even in 100-degree heat, the Ranchette Putters remain cool, confident, and competitive on the green.
