Suzy Claar, the president of SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Paper Crafters, was quietly watching Good Morning America as they reported a story featuring randomactsofkindness.org. It was part of their reporting on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
She then had a great idea to honor first responders who in New York City heroically acted on 9/11. During our SBR Paper Crafters studio time, she discussed the story she watched that morning. She then put a challenge out to the small group of women who were there to make thank you cards for these first responders in New York. Four women rose to the challenge and sent 145 handmade thank you cards within about 48 hours to the FDNY Headquarters with a message to send these cards to the men and women who provided support on that tragic day.
Shortly thereafter, Suzy received the distinguished FDNY 9/11 25th Anniversary Official Department Ceremonial Patch as well as a box full of FDNY goodies, commemorative pins, and memorabilia.
