Computers have become such an important part of genealogy, and it can be a real tragedy if you lose all your computer data. At our June meeting we’ll discuss various ways to back up your data. We’ll talk about “the cloud” and what that means, and we’ll discuss tools such as Dropbox, or just backing up to a hard drive and the ways to accomplish that. This meeting may be of use to other than genealogists. Anyone using a computer should have a backup strategy. The saying is, “it’s not IF you lose a disk drive, it’s WHEN.” Come to our Monday, June 27, meeting at 1:00 p.m. in the La Mesa room. We’ll have our usual sharing of exciting discoveries in genealogy, and we’ll cover how to keep your data safe.
