The Republican Women of Pinal County will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, in the SaddleBrooke Ranch Clubhouse. Two announced candidates for Congress will join us to present their qualifications. All are welcome to attend.
Arizona Congressional District 1 Candidate
Kevin Cavanaugh
Kevin Cavanaugh was born in Tennessee and later moved to Michigan with his family where he graduated high school.
Kevin is married to Samai and theirs is a real love story. Kevin says of Samai, “After meeting online we emailed and talked on the phone for a year before we ever met. When we finally did meet I discovered she was the nicest person I had ever met. I knew I had to marry her. She is still the nicest person I have ever met.”
While it was Kevin’s intention to spend a full year at the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, he realized that Arizona’s Congressional District 1 (CD1) was not likely to be won by the same group of candidates who had failed many times prior. He decided to leave early to give himself enough time to fight for CD1.
Arizona Congressional District 1 Candidate
Arizona State Senator Steve Smith
Steve was born and raised just outside of Detroit, Michigan and comes from a family of teachers, small business owners, medical professionals and brave members of the United States military dating back to WWII.
In his service in the House and Senate, Steve kept his campaign promises: combating illegal immigration, balancing the budget and helping fix Arizona’s struggling economy. Steve authored the bill signed by the Governor that allows Arizona to construct its own border fence. Arizona went from having a $1 billion plus deficit to massive budget surpluses, and Steve supported and helped lead the effort to pass the “Jobs Bill,” which moved Arizona from almost last in the country in job creation to number four.
Steve also has a 100% voting record in favor of pro-life and pro-second amendment rights and has never missed a day, a committee or a vote in the Senate.
