Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church is welcoming back many snowbirds, launching faith enhancing programs and will celebrate its 20th birthday in October.
In November we will begin our collection of nonperishable food items suited to Thanksgiving baskets that will be distributed by IMPACT of So. Arizona. December will be our annual time to work on the Adopt-a-Family program sponsored by the Tri Community Food Bank in Mammoth.
We have been assisting a refuge family from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and will continue to support them in this second year of their life in Tucson. MSPC also offers Just Coffee, a product from Chiapas, Mexico, and income that has made it possible for the growers to stay on their own land.
The Health Ministry Team continually offers programs and material that promote health with healing and wholeness of body, mind and spirit. On Faith in Action Sunday, March 11, 2018, participants will work on projects that provide support to our neighbors with some on-site activities as well as workshops at the church, which will create additional items that may go as far as Africa with handmade dresses.
The choir is back and quite accomplished. Frequent guest musicians enhance the entire musical portion of the services.
The motto of the church is Centered in Christ, Caring for Community. If you are looking for a place to worship and enjoy the additional activities as well as the friendships that come with them, then visit us on Sundays, 10:00 a.m. at 14240 N. Oracle Road. The website is www.mountainshadowschurch.org, complete with photos, news, upcoming services and past sermons.
