Art Club members are looking forward to having art classes available again. The board is excited to announce three different classes in June in the Art Room.
Other classes, as well as repeating some classes, will be scheduled in the future. So, keep an eye out on Group Works and the SaddleBrooke Ranch Roundup for future class information.
If you are interested in attending any of the following classes, contact Dale Farland at [email protected] and let her know which class you would like to attend. She will register you for the class and take your class fee.
Please note the deadline date for registration and payment of the class fees for each class. Each class needs to be prepaid.
First Class: Collage
This 4 1/2-hour class, divided over three days, will introduce SBR residents to the art of collage. You will be making collages by using various techniques and materials. It will be interesting to combine paint, photos, paper, and other materials to make an expressive collage. Participants can bring materials, and Susan Swanson, SBR resident and artist, will also have various materials to work with. Be creative!
Class Dates: Thursdays, June 16, June 23 and June 30
Time: 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Class Fee: $35, includes instruction and material. Participants can also bring their own materials.

Second Class: Paper Quilling
Have you ever wondered how those delicate and intricate pictures are made by paper quilling? You can learn this art, which may have evolved from China with the advent of paper. Even if you think you are all thumbs, now is your chance to learn this technique.
SBR resident and Southern Arizona Artist Guild artist Erin Newman will be teaching this art form. You will create a paper quilled flower while learning techniques. After this class, you can continue with this art form or simply enjoy your new creation!

Third Class: Beginner Drawing Class I
Lisa Friedman, SBR resident and artist, will teach this 6-hour course, divided over three days. She will introduce interested participants to drawing. Starting at the very beginning with what drawing is, you will become familiar with your graphite pencils. Then you will apply basic concepts such as proportion and size to paper with fun exercises where you will use lines, shapes, and forms as your building blocks. All materials will be provided, so all you need to bring is yourself!
