Zentangle Class: Spring Floral Wreath April 8
Erin Newman
Join the SBR Art Club for another adventure with Zentangle. Val Barsevich, a certified Zentangle teacher, will teach another in our series of classes this year. The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It increases focus and creativity and provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being.
This class requires experience with the Zentangle Method because of the high-focus nature of the project.
In this class, we will create a Spring Floral Wreath made with a variety of tangle patterns and techniques on a Zendala (round tile), which will be suitable for framing when complete. It’s going to be an afternoon of fun and relaxation as well as full of creativity. Anyone can do Zentangle—any age, any skill level, and any past artistic experience or success!

Next Series in Drawing: Understanding Construction Starting April 10
Dale Farland
The next three-series drawing classes continue with instructor Christine Lytwynczuk. It will be on three Wednesdays starting April 10. If you were a student of her Fundamentals of Drawing Class in March, you will want to continue with this series. You will build on the concepts previously learned, practicing the process with all manner of subject matter. Whether you are a beginner or you have experience in drawing and were not able to take her March series, you can still join this class as she will help you with the fundamentals.
These classes will teach you how to look at the subject matter and be able to visualize how to draw that item by understanding the construction.
Christine Lytwynczuk has been teaching painting and drawing for more than 25 years, giving new and established artists the skills they need to reach their artistic desires. She graduated cum laude from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a bachelor’s of fine arts in painting and took graduate classes in art teaching. She now teaches both privately and at an art center.
Class Description: When you draw, you need to think about the “construction” of an item. In this series of classes, the student will learn to see past the confusing details and identify simple ways of seeing and creating 3D form, foreshortening, and symmetry. You will learn how to look at an image and be able to change the position or action of the subject.

Class Fee: $85. Please deposit your check made out to SBR Art Club within five days of registering.
