The SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Art Club Board of Directors figured that everyone was just too busy for one more party in December, so we’re holding our first general meeting and also making it an after-New Year’s party on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
Mark your calendars for that first Wednesday in February from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Art Room. Join us for a little bit of business mixed with a lot of fun! The Art Club will provide snacks in the form of veggie trays, sandwich wraps, and assorted cookies, plus bottled water and soft drinks. Everyone attending will also be eligible for Art Club giveaways! If you would like to be a little more festive, please feel free to bring your own adult beverages, and we will provide cups and ice.
The board has worked hard since the SBR Art Club was resurrected after COVID. We are excited to tell you about upcoming new classes, in addition to some repeating classes, from instructors we enjoyed in 2023. There will be traditional as well as nontraditional classes. All have been well received by members, so let’s celebrate all that has occurred with this party!
During a recent inventory, we discovered a surplus of items that we believe many of our members would be able to use. We’re taking this opportunity to put them on display. Make sure to look through these items and take what you may need. Everything will be free of charge as they were donated to the club, and we want the members to take advantage of these items. We have several sizes of frames, mattes, backboards, canvases, and various paints in different media. Likewise, if you have art supplies that you will not be using, this would be an opportune time to donate what you no longer need, and perhaps acquire an item you could use.
Let’s ring in the 2024 Art Club on Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. in the Art Club room. You can help us to plan the number of snacks and beverages we’ll need by contacting Debby Felzien at: [email protected] by Feb. 5. We’ll still welcome you, even if you forget to email Debby!
Reminder: Please renew your SBR Art Club membership. Dues for 2024 remain only $25. As a returning member, there is no need to fill out any paperwork (unless your email address has changed). Deposit your check made out to SBR Art Club in the black lockbox. If you want to join the art club, membership forms are located in the plexiglass display case located right outside the Art Room door. Simply complete the form and deposit it with your check in the lockbox.
