ARTwalk—A SaddleBrooke Ranch Tradition

Linda Shannon-Hills

The ARTwalk has become a tradition at SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) and we are starting our 11th year this fall. This event has been listed as one of the top 50 fun facts about the Robson Resort Communities.

You must add it to your October calendar of events! The ARTwalk starts on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and finishes on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Artists are selling in their home studios, and art clubs are selling in the Creative Arts and Technology Center (CAT Center).

The SBR ARTwalk will be an open-studio tour, inviting SaddleBrooke Ranch residents to stroll, drive, or cart to the various artists’ homes, to meet the artists, view their work, and purchase that special item for your home or as a gift to a friend or family member. Artists are also selling in the CAT Center.

As our community grows, so does the amazing art created by our residents. Some bring this talent to the Ranch when they move here, while others have discovered they really do have a thread of creativity not realized before joining various clubs. Art brings a sense of purpose and self-awareness that is nurtured when an artist sells a piece of their work or when a person, just visiting an artist’s studio, raves about the artist’s work.

The work during the ARTwalk varies among paintings in acrylic and oil on canvas; photography; paper quilling; pottery of all kinds; fiber arts of knitted, crocheted, embroidered, and sewn items; quilts of many different designs; glassworks; woodworking items; jewelry in silver, gold, and beads; paper crafted cards and journals; and more, along with specialty items for the holidays.

Participating artists must be residents of SaddleBrooke Ranch and items sold are made by the resident artists—no commercial or manufactured products.

The SBR ARTwalk will be promoted only to SaddleBrooke Ranch residents and their families and friends, SaddleBrooke, and the community in Oracle.

ARTwalk will publish a directory listing of artists and their specialties as well as a map of the community to find the studios. Printed directories will be available at La Hacienda Club front desk, Ranch House Front Desk Administrator, and in some of the club studio rooms in the CAT Center. You can also find an electronic document online via the SBR HOA website and on SBR social media like NextDoor and SBR Facebook. If you would like to have a copy sent to your email, send an email request to the ARTwalk email address, [email protected].

Don’t miss this outstanding event! You have two days to visit as many artists as you want to see.
