Bashas’ grocery store in Catalina is very supportive of the Tri-Community Food Bank (TCFB) and its mission “Feeding our neighbors in SE Pinal County.” Bashas’ has donated bakery items such as bread, rolls, bagels, pies, cakes, cookies, etc. to TCFB for more than 10 years and provides space for a donation box that customers can donate food items at any time. TCFB is also a customer of Bashas’ and orders most of the food bank’s grocery purchases at a discount.

One of the challenges of the food bank is dealing with the large volume of cardboard that comes from unpacking food boxes and cartons. Bashas’ lets the food bank use the store’s compactor and it recycles the large volume of cardboard. It’s a huge help and savings for the TCFB.

The TCFB wishes to send a special thanks to Bashas’ store director Shawn Dorsey, bookkeeper Cindy Davis, and all other involved staff members for their assistance and support!
