What began as a small group of women sewing clothing for themselves and their families has blossomed into a heartfelt service project with a global impact. After several members attended training at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene to learn how to sew for the Dress-a-Girl organization, they invited fellow members of SaddleBrooke Ranch’s “Clothe Me” sewing group to join the mission. The response was overwhelming, and the group enthusiastically voted to begin creating dresses and skirts for girls in need through church missions around the world.
Each garment is sewn with the hope of bringing dignity, joy, health, and love to a young girl living in poverty. Every dress carries a Dress-a-Girl label, a visible reminder that the child is cared for by a compassionate organization and one that organizers believe helps to deter predators. Having distributed nearly 4 million dresses worldwide, Dress-a-Girl continues to make a difference, and the women of SaddleBrooke Ranch are proud to play a small part in bringing hope—one stitch at a time.
