In March 2016 when Mary Huebner presented the idea of starting a new community chorus to the Oracle Piano Society, her proposal was unanimously accepted, and Voices in the Oaks (VIO) Chorale was born. Mary recruited local singers and conducted the first performance in May 2016 at the Oracle Center for the Arts. Fast forward to 2026 and VIO is still singing strong and has matured into a successful community chorale.

Come celebrate this milestone with us at our “Ten Years of Song” concert on April 11 at 5 p.m. in the Ranch House Ballroom. We will be performing a song from each spring and fall concert since May 2016. Choosing only one song from each concert wasn’t easy and we are excited to share the final product with you including pieces performed by the full chorale, our Chamber Voices and many talented soloists and instrumentalists. Following the concert, we will host a reception in the ballroom to continue the fun.

Concert tickets will cost $20 and students attend for free with student ID. Tickets are available for purchase on the Voices in the Oaks website: voicesintheoaks.org and from VIO singers. You can also email us at admin@voicesintheoaks.org or call us at 520-276-9251 to obtain tickets.

The cost of the reception will be $20/person and will include the Ranch House taco bar and dessert. A cash bar will be available. Contact us at admin@voicesintheoaks.org to reserve your spot for the reception. And why not pick up a fabulous VIO 10-year anniversary T-shirt for $30 to show your support? We will have a variety of sizes for sale at the concert.

If you miss us at the Ranch House, you can still catch “Ten Years of Song” on April 12 at 3 p.m. at Vista United Methodist Church and May 3 at 3 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
