Creative Giving is a vibrant sewing, knitting, and crocheting group at SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) that brings heart and handiwork together for a greater purpose. In 2025 alone, the group created and donated more than 2,800 handcrafted items to eight different charities, as well as to residents of SaddleBrooke Ranch in need of medical support.
Led by co-chairs Linda Shannon-Hills and Dian Gowen, the group is united by a passion for creating with compassion. Members gather not only to craft but to connect—sharing laughter, encouragement, and the joy of giving.
While many items are made for traditional use, such as bibs and burps for babies and children, the club also produces deeply meaningful gifts like baby blankets designed for remembrance portraits of stillborn infants. These unique items offer grieving families a lasting and heartfelt memento, lovingly crafted by neighbors who care.
Kids Closet receives over 210 knitted, crocheted and fleece hats, scarves and headbands. We love supporting our local kids with our volunteers’ talents.
Creative Giving also supports the SBR community with practical, thoughtful items such as heart surgery and mastectomy pillows, walker bags, and double-pocket scarves—designed to make daily life a bit easier for those facing health challenges.

As the group proudly says, “Together we are making a difference, one handmade item at a time.”
