Fueling the Future

Students in need will have food when school is shut down for the winter break thanks to food the residents of SaddleBrooke Ranch and SaddleBrooke collected, organized, and distributed.

Edie Crall

For the fourth year, SaddleBrooke and SaddleBrooke Ranch are working together to provide much-needed food over the winter break for students at Mountain Vista School in Oracle. We are thrilled that the Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke is joining the effort again.

Many students rely upon school breakfasts and lunches, which are not available during the 15 days of winter break. Many will experience food insecurity during that time. In each of the last four years, Fueling the Future provided nonperishable and fresh food to more than 70 families.

Beginning Nov. 24 through Dec. 15, please contribute nonperishable foods, cash, or checks at the locations listed below. If making a contribution by check, please make it payable to: Oracle Community Center (a 501(c)(3) organization)—your check is your receipt for tax donations. Checks and cash purchase fresh fruits and vegetables for distribution.

Suggested donations: peanut butter/jelly, cereal, pasta/sauce, mac & cheese, dry rice, soups, applesauce, juice boxes/bottles, dessert mixes, boxed potatoes, canned fruit, cookies, canned vegetables, crackers, canned beans, canned tuna, chicken, or whatever else you choose.
