Need a last–minute gift to brighten any gathering for Easter Sunday? Come by the Creative Arts building and check out the many glass pieces available to give as lovely hostess gifts or to become one of your own treasures to enjoy for holidays to come. Feel free to come into the Glasshoppers Studio and let someone know you would like to take a closer look or make a purchase from the wonderful items for sale in the Glasshoppers’ window.
This month also marks the dates of the SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) spring ARTwalk. Glass projects will be on display both Friday, April 10 (1 to 5 p.m.) and Saturday, April 11 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). More than 40 talented artists will have their work up for sale in all of the club rooms in the Creative Arts Center. Also, many residents open their homes to ARTwalk attendees and have many more items for sale. Please let friends and relatives in our surrounding area know that this two-day event is open to everyone. Maps detailing the addresses of homes where art works are for sale, and what type of items are available at each location, will be available at the Guard House at the entrance to our community. The SBR ARTwalk happens only twice per year so you won’t want to miss it!
Members of Glasshoppers are already excited about learning new techniques in the variety of classes offered each month, and how to utilize them when creating gifts for the holiday season beginning next fall. Now is a great time to sign up for the safety class required to join Glasshoppers—the club thought by many to be the most fun in our community. Even if you’ve never felt you had a creative bone in your body, the supportive volunteers at Glasshoppers are always on hand to provide encouragement and suggest ideas that help members continue to develop new skills, branch out, and accomplish more than they had thought possible. Email Joy Cafferty, membership chair, today at Cafferty_j@msn.com to get in on April 9th’s Safety & Orientation class.
