Don Bott
Greetings to our SaddleBrooke Ranch neighbors. This article is to introduce you to a group of men who love to sing and harmonize, who do so pretty well and most importantly have fun in the process. The Canada del Oro Barbershop Chorus is a Barbershop Harmony Society member group of 30 men with most members living in SaddleBrooke and meets to rehearse every Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. in SaddleBrooke’s DesertView Performing Arts Center (DVPAC). We sing the old songs, entertain many groups and are always interested in having new voices added to our harmonic mix. Our director, Nancy Bergman, is known internationally for her arranging and coaching in the world of barbershop and Sweet Adelines singing. So gentlemen, if you like to sing, come join us. If you have questions, call Jerry Gustafson at 818-0882 or Jack Porteous at 825-0553.
And if you can’t sing with us, you can certainly come see and hear us. On Wednesday, March 18, at 7:00 p.m. we perform our production of Berlin Goes Barbershop at the DVPAC. Joining us on the stage will be the terrific Sweet Adelines quartet Contempo and the Chandler High School Men’s Chorus, a very talented group of lads who are among the nation’s best youth choruses—think “GLEE.” It will be a show for the entire family. Tickets can be purchased at SB’s MountainView ticket office, 825-2818, or on line at www.dvpac.net. We look forward to having members of the SaddleBrooke Ranch community join us.
