The Horseback Riding Group will be headed to Marana on Saturday, Oct. 11, for the first ride of the fall season. The ride at Tucson Mountain Stables is on the property of the White Stallion Ranch. It starts in a flat area of scrub brush, but quickly rises up into the foothills of the Twin Peaks area, passing huge volcanic boulders and a site of the Native American petroglyphs.
If you are interested in the Horseback Riding Group’s activities, go to the Saddlebrooke HOA website, “Things to do,” “Clubs.” There in the middle column is a link to the “Horseback Riding Group.” Click on that and you will see more information and the email address to get in contact with the group.
If you would like to participate in a particular ride, there are two ways to reserve your spot. The group uses “Team Reach” and once invited, you can see more information on a particular ride and also reserve your spot. Using Team Reach it is very easy to make your reservation or cancel if you need to. If you have not yet joined the group on Team Reach, please send an email to the link at the site. Give the secretary, Rebecca Williams, your name, the ride you want to join, and the time if there is a choice. She will get back to you with a confirmation and can help with any questions you may have.
You can participate as often as you choose. All rides are usually one hour at a walk, just to enjoy the scenery. The price for each ride varies, but is typically $60 to $75 including tip. We all pay at the stable on the day of the ride. Happy Trails!
