Join Us! SaddleBrooke Ranch’s 7th Annual Cancer Walk

Team SBR: Strong, Brave, and Resilient

The Cancer Support Group needs your support! Last year, in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) showed the city—and ourselves—just how tough we are as we gathered together to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night. Our SBR team of almost 50 members was Strong, Brave, and Resilient!

Our 7th annual cancer event will once again be available as a ride, walk, or both! With more than 30 carts in 2021, we once again will strive to beat that number and join together at SBR’s 3rd annual Light the Night Golf Cart Ride!

There is no charge to register for this event, and when you complete your online registration, you are automatically registered for the Golf Cart Ride and the official Light the Night walk for Leukemia/Lymphoma. While we never insist on fundraising, we have found that people are just waiting to be asked! In fact, in 2021, our team once again received the 2nd place fundraising award after raising a total of $9,378!

As a community that always comes together, we ask you to join us once again for the 2022 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night for one or both these events:

Friday, Oct. 21

6:30 p.m. (leaving at 7 p.m.)

3rd Annual Light the Night Golf Cart Ride at SaddleBrooke Ranch

and/or

Saturday, Oct. 22

7 p.m. (festivities start at 5 p.m.)

Light the Night at Rillito Regional Park

4570 N. 1st Ave., Tucson, AZ 85718

By joining our team and raising funds for this important cause, you’ll make a real impact on the fight against cancer. We come together as a community to honor survivors, raise awareness of blood cancers and all cancers, and remember those who have lost their battles.

Please join Team SBR: Supportive, Brave, Resilient by registering at pages.lls.org/ltn/az/TucsonL22/sbr.

Note: Registration on the website will automatically register you for the Oct. 21 Community Golf Cart Ride.

Raise $100 and you will receive a T-shirt (ALL cancer survivors get a Survivor shirt)!

Can’t attend the walk? Feel free to make a donation to the team member of your choice by logging on to pages.lls.org/ltn/az/TucsonL22/SBR; then choose a team member from the “Donate to a Team Member” section on the right side of the page.

In Memory

Once again, this year we remember two SBR residents and past Light the Night supporters who lost their battles with cancer. Carol Smith wore her infectious smile while working the fitness center until 2019. So many of you knew Patrick Hendricks as the loveable security guard who helped look after our properties. Carol passed away Nov. 28, 2020, and Patrick passed on Feb. 23, 2021.

For more information, please contact Sandy Jessop at [email protected] or by phone after 2:30 p.m. at 520-686-4566.
