The SaddleBrooke Ranch “Ladies Who Lunch” group gathered for a joyful, patriotic celebration honoring the 250th Birthday of the United States of America. Twenty-eight ladies enjoyed an afternoon filled with friendship, gratitude, beautiful decorations, and a meaningful reminder of the freedoms and blessings we share. The theme of the luncheon was “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Our Happiness” inspired by the timeless words for the Declaration of Independence.
Attendees received a beautiful welcome as tables, walls, and doors were decorated with a festive red, white, and blue display featuring American flags and patriotic accents. The celebration began with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by two women veterans in the group. Standing together, the ladies honored the flag and the generations of Americans who have served our country. Afterward, everyone sang “God Bless America” a cappella. Hearing the women’s unaccompanied voices united in song was especially beautiful and moving.
The song ended with enthusiastic applause before the group began its festive luncheon. During the program, host and speaker Kristi Phillips-LaVine reflected on the remarkable journey of American women through our nation’s history. Her presentation honored the courage, determination, and contributions of women who helped shape our families, communities, and country often without receiving the recognition they deserved. The afternoon also provided an opportunity to consider what “the pursuit of happiness” means in our lives today. Happiness is not simply something we want to find—it can be created through gratitude, kindness, friendship, purpose, and the decision to encourage others. Each new day gives us a fresh opportunity to appreciate our freedom, strengthen our relationships, and make a positive difference in someone’s life.
The luncheon included a beautiful decorated patriotic cake, along with plenty of lively conversation and laughter. More than a luncheon, it was a reminder of the importance of gathering and building meaningful friendships within the SaddleBrooke Ranch community. As America marks its historic 250th birthday, the “Ladies Who Lunch” group is grateful for the courage of those who came before us, the freedoms we enjoy today, and the hope we carry into the future. We may each have different stories, experiences, and backgrounds, but on this special afternoon, everyone was united by friendship and love for our country. Together, the ladies celebrated life, liberty, and the continuing pursuit of happiness—with grateful hearts and great hopes for America’s next 250 years!
