Join Travel Talk Tuesday on May 27 and come along with Ranch resident, Deb Sandin, as she takes us along by train, tram, and tuk tuk to the many breathtaking cities she visited in Southern Spain and to Lisbon, Porto, and more in Portugal.
With Deb as our tour guide, we’ll explore the many plazas, enjoy tapas and stroll through the wonderful museums of Madrid. Next we’ll visit Granada and learn about the final period of Muslim rule on the Iberian Peninsula. We’ll hear about the magnificent palatine city of the Alhambra, which was a must-see experience. Finally, wrapping up this part of her trip by hearing about Seville, along with a day trip to the famous Mezquita in Cordoba.
With a short-hop plane ride, her adventure continued in Lisbon, Portugal. Visiting many UNESCO sites from their golden era of world exploration 500 years ago, you marvel how it all still exists. Hear about how you can take an amazing cheap Uber ride to nearby Sentra to see fairy-tale palaces and gardens. Then we’ll experience Deb’s final days in the lovely, hilly town of Porto along the Douro river enjoying the port, tours, and the haunting melodies of Fado.
