Join the SBR Painters Club in August to develop your skill at painting desert subjects in watercolor. The course will be given as three Sunday sessions—Aug. 4, 11, and 18—by instructor Rachel Linnemeier. Each session will be from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Fine Arts Room in the Creative Arts and Technology Center. You will gain the experience of creating a larger landscape painting along with a more detailed project focusing on a favorite desert animal. A template will be provided for the animal painting, so no need to worry about your drawing skills! Anyone can join in!
Creating distance in your landscapes, masking off areas in your work, and layering fine details are just a few of the techniques you will learn during this course.
The cost is $100 for SBR Painters Club members and $105 for nonmembers. Payment is due 7 days before the first session and can be made via check made out to SBR Painters Club and left in the SBR Painters Club lock box outside the Art Room.
To register, send an email message to Marion Ewing at [email protected] with “August Watercolor Workshop” as the subject line. Membership in the SBR Painters Club is not required for registration. Once you have signed up, the instructor will reach out to you to review the watercolor supplies you have and give some tips on paper selection.
