Let’s Make a Faux Marble Box!

Join artist Kathie Scrimgeour for a hands-on gel printing class where she will guide you step by step through the process of creating stunning, marble-like papers using a gel plate. You’ll explore various color combinations, layering techniques, and textural effects to achieve beautiful, one-of-a-kind papers. Once you’ve mastered your marbled designs, you’ll be shown how to transform an ordinary cigar box into an elegant treasure box, incorporating your handmade papers to create a truly unique and artistic keepsake. This class offers a fun and creative way to explore the endless possibilities of this versatile medium. It is recommended that students have completed at least one of the previous gel printing classes offered by the SBR Art Club.

Supplies needed: Students bring gel plate (8×10 or 5×7), brayer, scissors, and glue stick. Paint, paper, and cigar boxes will be provided.
