The SaddleBrooke Ranch Library Committee has announced the final book in the Read America 250 Program.
First Family: Abigail and John Adams, written by Pulitzer Prize Winner Joseph J. Ellis, will be discussed on June 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the La Vista Room at the Hacienda Club. First Family delves into the intimate relationship between Abigail and John Adams through their personal correspondence of over 1,200 letters. The letters cover their support of the quest for independence, his time in France, and through the years of his presidency. As the first Vice President of the United States, the second President, and the father of the 6th President of the United States, John, with Abigail by his side, are special participants in the birth and success of the American Experiment.
Attendees to the discussions will each receive a raffle ticket for a chance to receive the book The American Revolution: An Intimate History by Geoffrey C. Ward and Ken Burns, the companion book to the PBS documentary, The American Revolution.
All community members are invited to read the book and participate in the discussion.
