Voices in the Oaks Chorale performed one of two Messiah sing-along concerts at SaddleBrooke Ranch Sol Ballroom on Dec. 20, 2019. With talented University of AZ graduate students Donte Ford conducting and Hsin-Chih Chang on piano, the 24-voice chorus led the audience through Handel’s Messiah part 1 and the Hallelujah Chorus. Audience members showed great enthusiasm and support for Oracle’s community chorale helping to raise funds to keep Voices sustainable. Behind the scenes, several SBR residents made this event possible beginning with former Rancher Barbara Drake, who secured the ballroom months in advance, and Alastair Stone stepped up to make sure all our ducks were in a row to pull off a wonderfully successful and fun event. Barbara and Bob Drake not only sang, but hosted an after concert gathering at their home. Steve Hanns sang bass. Steve Weiss provided the beautiful photography. With enough interest and support, Voices in the Oaks Chorale hopes to return to the ballroom’s stage in 2020.
