Mini-lectures have become a favorite activity at the Health Fair. These three presenters will speak at the Tennis Pavilion. Shuttles will make a special stop near the pavilion.
Dr. Mohammed Dardari SaddleBrooke, 9:30 a.m.
Dr. Dardari recently joined the Northwest Allied physicians’ team at SaddleBrooke. His education is a perfect fit for our community. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis and earned his Geriatric Fellowship at Stanford University. He chose internal medicine so he could focus on a broad range of illness and geriatrics because he has a special passion for seniors.
He is known for his attention to detail and for listening carefully to his patients. Because geriatric patients often develop problems due to complex pharmaceutical regimens, he has a particular interest in helping his patients manage their medications.
Katrina Kittell PharmD, 10:15 a.m.
Katrina Kittell is a clinical staff pharmacist at Oro Valley Hospital and she will discuss “Managing the Drug Needs of Senior Inpatients”. She will discuss how hospital pharmacists help patients understand their temporary or newly prescribed medication and how this works with their existing prescriptions. Often the transition from hospital to home can be tricky in the area of prescriptions. Her information will be valuable on managing that transition.
Katrina graduated from the University of Arizona and completed her pharmacy residency at HonorHealth Shea. She did a rotation in SaddleBrooke during her training so she is familiar with the need to help patients understand their prescriptions and manage potential drug interactions.
Dave Loendorf President, Senior Village, 11:00 a.m.
Dave will tell us about Senior Village at SaddleBrooke and the many services available to help its members “age in place.” David is an aerospace engineer and computer science professor who volunteered to help Senior Village set up a software system and soon became involved in every aspect of the operation.
The goal of Senior Village is to help residents remain independent with a little help from their friends at Senior Village. That includes transportation, minor tasks around the house and yard, social home visits, lock box installation, medical equipment lending and more. There are special activities for people with physical restrictions to participate in bocce ball, putters, walks and more. Find out what Senior Village can mean to you.
