Mosaic Saguaro Cactus Class

Dale Farland

Instructor Gillian Allard, who displays her artwork at the Southern Arizona Arts Guild at La Encanta, once again came to SaddleBrooke Ranch to teach the creative process of mosaic bead tapestry. She provided the materials and instructions for this creative art project, which was a beaded saguaro cactus. Four residents, Lori Eby, Sheri Stark, Betsy McMahon, and Dale Farland enjoyed the fullday class. The class, offered by the SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Art Club, started at 10 a.m. with everyone learning the details of selecting beads of various dimensions and placement. Following this instruction, everyone went to the Ranch House for lunch and then returned to complete their mosaic cactus in the afternoon. The accompanying picture shows the finished artwork. Each one is different as each person added their own personal touch to their cactus.
