Bowls created by Mudslingers for the Empty Bowls fundraiser
Sue Fetters
The Mudslingers Pottery Club and once again turned their creative talent into a lifeline for the Tucson community by donating 110 handcrafted bowls to the Interfaith Community Services (ICS). Each year the Mudslingers contribute bowls to the organization’s Empty Bowls fundraiser. Participants can use the bowls for soup and bread and then take them home. More than 30 potters, led by Patti Jo Lewis, worked tirelessly to make the bowls as our contribution to fight local food insecurities. The proceeds from this fundraiser directly fund ICS Food Banks. We thank Patti Jo for all her hard work organizing this charitable and very successful event. We like to think that because of our members’ contribution, fewer Tucson families are going hungry.
The Mudslingers studio is located in the Arts and Technology Center. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
