Since last month, we are excited to announce that our club has increased by eight new members. Some of our new members attended the intro class and created pieces now ready for kiln firing—very impressive for new members! You too can join in the fun and use your imagination to build a unique personal piece.
These are some of the classes we held in February and March: how to use the large extruder; glazing techniques such as dipping, pouring, and brushing; and making pinch pot owls. These classes are available to members and the class size is limited so that the instructor can provide more hands-on experience with the students.
We have expanded hours! Starting March 14, the open studio added new hours on Monday and Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. Now we are open five days a week. Our studio hours are:
* Monday and Wednesday: 3 to 5 p.m.
* Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The next introductory class is Thursday, April 21. Glazing (the second session) will be held two weeks later. To enroll, drop by the studio during studio hours and provide your contact information on the signup sheet. The cost is $40 for the two sessions (all materials included). During the first session, you actually build a pottery piece with the class facilitator. The second session covers various glazing techniques, allowing you to prepare your creation for firing. After that, you can join the club for a $25 annual membership, which is good through the calendar year 2022. This is 50% off the regular annual membership.
