Need to Get Your Flu Vaccine?

Linda Shannon-Hills

People who are 65 years or older, with certain health conditions, such as asthma, heart disease, or diabetes, are considered high risk and are especially vulnerable to the flu and its complications. Every year, thousands of people die in the United States due to the flu, and even more are hospitalized. Protect yourself by getting the 2021 flu vaccine. Many locations in the area are available for you to receive the vaccination such as pharmacies, your local grocery, your doctor’s office and during the SaddleBrooke Ranch Flu Vaccine Drive.

A second flu vaccination drive will be held at the Ranch on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Desert Life Pharmacy is partnering with the SBR Vaccine Drive Task Force to offer the vaccine to our residents. There are three types of vaccine: a stronger dose for those 65 and older; a different dose for those younger than 65; and a third dose for people with egg allergies. You can register on the Desert Life Pharmacy calendar for the SaddleBrooke Ranch Vaccination Drive at calendly.com/desertlifepharmacy/flu-shots-october-16th-ranch?month=2021-10.

Desert Life Pharmacy, located in the SaddleBrooke business area, is also offering vaccinations in the pharmacy.

Depending on the CDC decision regarding COVID-19 boosters or third vaccines, during this flu vaccination drive, we will offer a booster or third dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to residents who have received their second vaccination eight months prior (in February 2021). We will also have a COVID-19 booster in November and December. The details on registration for COVID-19 have not been confirmed yet, but you will be contacted by email for those eligible.
