Painters Club Gearing Up for Busy Year

Patti West

The recently organized SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Painters Club has hit the ground running, and 2024 promises to have offerings that will appeal to all levels of painters from aspiring to accomplished. Newly elected President Nancy Derifield, Vice President Marion Ewing, Treasurer Lee Vulcan, and Correspondence Secretary Patti West have been busy planning educational and social activities for the first half of the year. A calendar of coming events will be posted on GroupWorks soon.

The focus of the SBR Painters Club is to build a painters community at SaddleBrooke Ranch through regular creation of art and art education. A wide variety of media are supported, including: oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, encaustic, colored pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, and various mixed media. The club has open studio time in the Art Room on Saturdays from 1 p.m. until close, except for the second Saturday of the month when the room is used by another club. Membership dues are $25 per year. Membership is not required for classes offered by the club, but class fees are higher for nonmembers.

The SBR Painters Club will be represented at the Club Expo on Feb. 10 and will host their own Expo on Feb. 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Art Room. The Feb. 24 Expo will feature artists who will demonstrate and answer questions about a variety of painting media. Membership information and signups will also be available.
