Members collaborating and creating together
Nichole Lawhon
The Paper Crafters continued community outreach with a partnership with IMPACT of Southern Arizona where custom designed Valentine’s Day cards from our members were delivered to homebound seniors, plus blank Valentine’s Day cards were also included so they could send holiday wishes to their loved ones. We also had members create and donate Valentine’s cards to other senior organizations nationwide. It was great to see the kindness of our members sharing paper crafted projects with those in need.
During January and February, many new members joined our group, and we completed a Paper Crafting 101 class. It was wonderful to see paper projects beginning to take shape even during that initial time while friendships were created. If this piques your interest, we encourage you to visit us on Mondays from 1 to 4 p.m. You can meet crafters who will help you get started and give you inspiration to create paper works of art for you to enjoy in the future. Just bring yourself and all supplies will be provided.
The studio located in the activity center will continue to be open from 1 to 4 p.m. each Monday. It is a great time to work with other members and to get new ideas for future projects. Also, we have a unique activity planned for the second Monday of each month during our studio time. In March we will feature Paper Scrapbooking and in April we will feature Paper Stamping. Our February class was filled with members collaborating and creating together and embossing cards.
We encourage everyone at Saddlebrook Ranch to visit the studio on Mondays between 1 and 4 p.m. to view and purchase unique items made by our members.
