For the past year, the SaddleBrooke Ranch Piecemakers Quilting Club have supported Against Abuse, Inc. (AAI) and La Casa de Paz, emergency crisis shelters for women and children fleeing domestic and/or sexual violence. Oftentimes, when families arrive at La Casa de Paz, they have nothing but the clothes on their back. When fleeing domestic and sexual violence, families often have a short window of time to escape. The SaddleBrooke Ranch Piecemakers support these families by creating forever quilts and making Becca bags filled with toiletries.

When families arrive at the shelter, AAI is able to give them handmade quilts in both adult and child sizes. When they read “Made with Love by the SaddleBrooke Ranch Piecemakers,” families immediately feel welcome and cared for.

In addition to the beautiful handmade quilts and Becca bags, the SaddleBrooke Ranch Piecemakers often collect clothing, furniture, and household items for the families. When families are stable and ready to move into their own homes free of violence, they are able to shop for free furniture and household items to fill their new home. Families take their special quilts home with them when they leave AAI’s shelters.

SaddleBrooke Ranch Piecemakers continue to support Against Abuse, Inc. with bi-monthly donations. They also recently produced over 200 face masks for La Casa de Paz residents and AAI staff. With the SaddleBrooke Piecemaker’s generous donations and commitment to helping families in Pinal County, AAI will continue to help families create lives free of violence.
