The Mudslingers studio offered another inspirational demonstration for its members. Led by Teri Thomas and assisted by Bonnie Roach, this class showcased how to use wax, tape, paper, stickers, and metallic markers as resist materials to enhance pottery creations. Often, members are not aware of all the various techniques that can add a new dimension to their pottery. This is where our frequent demonstrations help to keep our members up to date on all the new methods of design.
Teri explained and showed the class how to use wax as a glaze border as well as how to create abstract designs with both wax and Latex wax. Attendees got to inspect finished pottery samples demonstrating all the various relief techniques. These demonstrations offered to the members of Mudslingers are invaluable in building the confidence of our potters as well as serve as a tremendous inspiration to try new and unique methods of ceramic creation. We thank Teri and Bonnie for their expertise and willingness to share their pottery knowledge.
The Mudslingers studio is located in the Arts and Technology Center. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
