On March 15 the Ranchette Putters gathered on the SaddleBrooke Ranch putting green as usual. But on this day the pink shirt lady putters were putting for a good cause.

Membership Coordinator Marian Bianchini volunteers at Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) on a weekly basis. She is very aware of the needs of the center. When Marian brought the idea to the board members about a club effort to collect items for PACC, it was warmly received.

Marian arranged for a speaker, and on March 8 Gina Hansen, Volunteer Coordinator from PACC, spoke to the putters about the great work being done at the center, volunteer opportunities and how people can help provide care for the rescued animals. Gina provided a list of the most needed items, and a date was set to collect the donations.

Excited about the idea, on March 15, 48 putters brought their donations to the green. The club clearly showed its support and generosity when the number of donated items exceeded the cargo space in President Nancy Galant’s SUV. This is the first charity event in the history of Ranchette Putters. The enthusiasm of the lady putters resulted in a successful effort on behalf of PACC and their furry residents.
